During the InfoComm 2016 in the United States, which is a benchmark for the development of the global audio-visual industry, many large-screen display companies made "energy saving" one of the main highlights of their products.
In terms of small-pitch LEDs, Leyard has launched an energy-saving LED video wall design, which is very suitable for control rooms and digital signage applications.
In terms of rear projection splicing, Barco exhibited a new RGB laser rear projection video wall product, which can provide higher brightness while reducing energy consumption by 25% compared to traditional LED backlit video walls.
There is actually evidence that energy saving has become a hot topic in the large screen industry. -barThe Lebanese Climate Conference reached the common global development goal of striving to control global warming within 2°C. China’s “13th Five-Year Plan” also proposed an energy-saving goal of reducing energy consumption per unit of GDP by 15%. Strive to achieve the independent contribution goal of reducing carbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP by 60%-65% by 2030 compared with 2005. Energy conservation and environmental protection have become the general trend of global economic development and will receive more policy dividends. This is undoubtedly the choice for large-screen enterprises to achieve their own development and fulfill their corporate social responsibilities.
Based on the user's perspective, in the total cost of ownership (TOC) of large-screen display equipment, the energy consumption expenditure in later use is a considerable amount. Relevant surveys show that the average power consumption of a P16 dot pitch LED screen is 272W/m2. If used 14 hours a day, the average power consumption per square meter per year is as high as nearly 1,400 kilowatt hours. If the data is enlarged to the whole country, only 12 million m2 of installed outdoor LED displays consume 16.7 billion kilowatt hours of electricity in a year, which is equivalent to the power generation of the Three Gorges Dam for 60 days, resulting in nearly 17 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions. Therefore, users are more willing to pay for energy-saving displays, whether from the perspective of reducing usage costs or responding to global environmental calls.
At the policy level, with the gradual advancement of the "13th Five-Year Plan", advocating energy-saving products will surely become the goal orientation of "Made in China 2025" and provide "reassurance" for enterprises. At the enterprise level, energy-saving products will help create differentiated competitive advantages for enterprises. More importantly, energy-saving products can be recognized by the end-user market, which will help provide reaction force for the company's R&D and production and promote the steady development of the energy-saving economy.
